Our client was first established in 2003 in Sydney. They were determined to challenge the status quo in coffee, and continue to go hard to deliver painstakingly well made and delicious coffee, that is directly sourced, to cafes and consumers.

About The Opportunity

They are now looking for a Head of People / HR Manager to join their company in Botany, NSW, with the potential to earn a Generous Salary, Negotiable Based on Experience.

In this role, you will guide the business on all things to do with peoplestaffing, HR projects, compensation, HR system and processes, compliance, performance, culture and development. You will also be “right arm” to the GM, and play a lead role supporting projects, deliverables and the leadership team. 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Writing job advertisements and posting on a various advertising sites 
  • Presenting shortlists to Managers and assisting in the interview and hiring process 
  • Respond to issues and questions from candidates, employees and managers
  • Co-create the annual people plan and drive projects and action around culture 
  • Annually analyse salaries and advise on salary adjustments and changes
  • Implement and lead WHS plans and report it's effectiveness to managers 
  • Coach and address performance issues to managers and create a plan to rectify
  • Ensure relevant policies and procedures are in place and reviewed annually 
  • Coordinating monthly meetings and organising the leadership team 

About You 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Generalist Human Resources experience
  • Hospitality, FMCG or SME environment (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, modern award and compliance understanding
  • Experience recruiting and coaching managers to lead their teams
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and relationship skills

  • Adaptable - This is a very broad and dynamic role so you must have the ability to multi-task across many areas
  • Creative - You will support the cultural vibe and mould all HR initiatives to reflect this - traditional corporate is not their thing! 
  • Looking for Ownership - You will be the "HR team" for this small business of 55 employees and own all things People related
