About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to carry out high-quality carpentry work across residential and commercial projects while mentoring Indigenous trade assistants and apprentices.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing carpentry repairs, maintenance, refurbishments, and construction works
  • Interpreting work orders, construction plans, and project specifications
  • Mentoring, supervising, and providing on-the-job training to Indigenous trade assistants and apprentices
  • Maintaining safe, clean, and organised work sites in accordance with WHS requirements
  • Operating, maintaining, and caring for tools, equipment, vehicles, and machinery
  • Providing progress updates and accurately completing job documentation
  • Working collaboratively with management, colleagues, contractors, and community stakeholders
  • Delivering quality workmanship with a strong focus on safety and attention to detail

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry
  • Minimum 2-3 years' post-trade carpentry experience
  • Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, construction methods, and WHS legislation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to mentor and support apprentices and trade assistants
  • High level of physical fitness and ability to work in remote environments
