About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to provide accounts and administrative support across the business, understanding finance principles and the ability to work with other team members to achieve accurate results.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of job costings and financial reporting, liaising with accountants
  • Managing supplier and subcontractor invoicing and payments, including purchase order matching and approvals
  • Overseeing end-of-month reconciliations and stocktake processes
  • Maintaining accurate subcontractor compliance records, including public liability and WorkCover
  • Managing project information and tool/asset records to keep the business running smoothly
  • Completing weekly payroll entry information for the external accountants

You will also assist with Building Approvals, and full training for these processes will be provided.

  • Setting up new clients and projects, and invoicing starter packs and deposits in Constructor
  • Coordinating building approvals with the Building Certifier, including QLeave and QBCC requirements
  • Organising soil tests, effluent requirements, and energy efficiency documentation
  • Assisting with plumbing applications, council permits, and decision notice certificates
  • Keeping clients informed and booking footing and final inspections with the Onsite Manager
  • Attending Production Team Meetings and assisting with approval-related actions

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in advanced bookkeeping 
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, councils, and certifiers
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines with a proactive, collaborative approach
  • Confidence with accounting and payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Building and construction approvals experience desirable but not essential; training provided
