About The Company
Our client is a growing demolition company based in Sydney that specialises in commercial strip-outs and detailed demolitions. Due to a recent phase of rapid growth, our client is looking for labourers and leading hands to lead their on-site demolition team. They are looking for experienced candidates that can contribute to their high standard of work and continue to build their companies' reputation for excellent, effective and timely demolition services.
The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the Leading Hand position is to supervise 5-10 labourers and coordinate the different demolition sites in a methodical manner whilst being hands-on to set the pace on site. The Labouring work is mainly interior strip-outs and detailed demolition including catch decks and structural demolition.
To be successful in this role you will have must have:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role in the building/construction industry
- Professional references from previous employers
- A current white card, driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- A high level of physical fitness
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to read and understand plans
- Strong communication skills to liaise with a variety of clients
- Flexibility to be available for overtime and occasional night shifts as required
